Meet Microsoft Edge!

When Microsoft released the Windows 10 preview, it introduced us to its new web browser code named: Project Spartan, and now officially called Microsoft Edge.

Write On The Web

Microsoft Edge is the only browser that lets you take notes, write, doodle, and highlight directly on webpages. Add a few secret ingredients to a recipe right on the screen to share with your fellow amateur chefs, collaborate on a new project with your coworkers, or have fun with your kids—the web is your palette. Make a Web Note  to start adding to the page you're on.

Read With Fewer Distractions

For a clean and simple layout, select Image of Reading view icon in the address bar to turn on reading view. This'll bring whatever you're reading front-and-center. You can even change the reading view style and font size to suit your mood—select Image of More actions icon, followed by Settings.

Integrated Cortona

Only Microsoft Edge has your chatty personal assistant, Cortana, right in the address bar. She's there to help you do things faster and easier—like make reservations and get at-a glance directions to the perfect dinner spot. When you stumble across a topic on the web you’d like to know more about, Cortana is your ready and able, all-knowing guru. Highlight the word or phrase of interest, press and hold (or right-click) it, and then Ask Cortana —she’ll tell you all about it.
For example, when you type terms in the address bar (or the Bing search box on the New Tab page), Cortana will provide instant answers—weather, or specific questions like when does summer start?, for example, without needing to go to a search page. When you’re on a web site that has phone, address and other information, Cortana appears in the address bar so you can open a pane right in the browser that provides a lot more information about the place. And you can highlight words or phrases, right-click, and then choose “Ask Cortana” to find out more, again in a pane (so you don’t need to navigate away from the page. It’s powerful stuff, and will require further exploration.

Home Page

This page is rich and attractive, and combines Bing-based search with a row of top sites tiles and personalized content that is somewhat reminiscent of the old Yahoo and iGoogle web portals
